Population

 

The are of Valladolid has 200,000 inhabitants, 30% of which is economically active. Labor costs is low, of good quality and with disposition for training for the correct execution of responsibilities.

 

Salaries

 

Minimum salary for the area, classified as geographic zone “C” is $ 35.00 for an 8 hr. workday. Professional minimum salaries range from $ 40.00 and $ 90.00. The work time for industrial activity covers 45:00 hrs per week (1993). Human resources cover an area of up to 20 kms. around and the commercial influence up to 50 kms. Following is a list showing the existing population in Valladolid and Yucata’s East region in a ratio of 12 km., population on a range of 5 years to 1991.

It is important to clarify that a significant percentage of this population is not inactive but work in distant places such as Cancún and Mérida and the aim is to provide local occupation. The 70% of the men are part of the active population as they are hired more in comparison to women

Technical Institute of Mérida. With a module of Master’s Degree in Tourist Industries Administration.

Department of Public Education. With a Bachelors Technological Center No. 87, Bachelor’s College and Teachers Training School. Valladolid also has a CONALEP (National School of Technical Professional Education), with careers in Nursing, Fiscal Accounting, Electronic Mechanic, and Computers Sciences. Two private colleges, one incorporated to Yucatan’s university. Private schools for Private Accounting, Commercial and Executive Secretaries, Tourism, Computers, 6 high schools, 20 promary schools, 25 kindergartens and day-play centers.
